about

Folk Rock musician Eric H. F. Law’s new “Better Angels” album features inspired melodies and brooding and mystical lyrical reflections on both self and humanity with additional musicians featured on the album including the names of Dan Lutz, Dan Cole, Max Hart, and Steve Hass. Eric H. F. Law has been writing songs since the age of 14, as he was inspired by the albums of Peter, Paul, and Mary. He wrote and sang about his immigrant experience in New York City. Throughout his excursion from becoming an electrical engineer, to a priest of the Episcopal Church, to finding the Kaleidoscope Institute for Diverse and Sustainable Communities, authored 12 books, music had been a constant companion for him.

lyrics

When darkness overcomes this land
And I can hardly see to reach for your hand
I need your light
I need your light

When gloomy shadows shroud our hearts
Dividing friends with fears that tear us apart
I need your light to shine and burst through the clouds of fears and lies
I need your light to light a rainbow of truth across the skies
I need your light
I need your light

When bullying supplants debate
When patriotic means to advocate hate
I need your light, I need your light

When fear becomes the air we breathe
When lies are told as truths for us to believe
I need your light to find my courage to touch and love my foes
I need your light to lift my burden so I can fly and glow

So I’ll be the light
as you are the light
We’ll be the light to light the pathway to justice, truth and grace
Let’s be the lights to clear the shadows and make an open space
Where we are free
Where we can speak our truth

Where we can fly and shine and burst through the clouds of fears and lies
Let’s be the light to light the rainbow of truth across the skies
Let’s be the light, Let’s be the light, Let’s be the light
